I'VE BEEN LUSTING OVER...

I have a few projects that I am getting into gear to accomplish. Most of the new projects have to do with a lot of wood working. I'm not that skilled in this category but I will ,however, try.  I get way more satisfaction out of making something than buying it.
so first and foremost these bedside tables that I saw on a blog that I highly recommend are gorgeous and perfect for what style I really like.

I love that it is off of the floor and allows there to be two shelves instead of just one. I don't believe it would a hard task to make these. It might just take some time.

Big Days: Birthday Bash

This weekend was full of magestic and magical things. The whole property [the horse farm/park] by my house just opened up to the public. It might be the last remaining piece of rural land left within the city of Lafayette. There was this whole legal battle going on for years and years to preserve the hourse farm. The land is so vast and lush. I cant wait for this to be my new trails to run on.
Again, I am so excited about my plants sprouting. I had recently made my Living Shadow Boxes (will soon be putting up a DIY guide on how to do them)  that I had planted Dwarf Mondo Grass in, as well as forget me not(s). The mondo grass was just planted in there just because i didn't want a box of dirt hanging on my living room wall. I came home to see that the seedlings are just starting to peak out. I am more than excited about this. Being that this is a prototype to my shadow box project, I would say this experiment is going pretty well. I hope they flourish just like my peas did. I am amazed at how much those peas are changing on a day to day basis. I'll be building a lattes for them soon enough.
Yesterday was a big deal, because I wanted to make sure Thomas has the best birthday he could have possibly had. He's not too keen on any celebration that centers around himself. We decided to just have a grill out at his sister's new house. [which looks like a page ripped right out of a veranda magazine] It was nice and great to have the family together. But, only in Louisiana will someone blow their birthday candles out on, not a chocolate cake, but a batch of home-made bread pudding.
Here are a few pictures to sum up the weekend.

COME AND MEET US

So every week on Friday's I have some how convinced work that I have class until 7 at night. In doing that I have given myself the whole day on Fridays to do whatever I want (which is much needed, because personal time for myself comes far and few these days) Today I am on a quest to find Thomas' birthday present (because he is so hard to buy for) and to find a window seal trough to plant my poppies in. <a few of them would be nice>
but before I found or will find those, I have planted some peas in the house. I woke up this morning and saw that the little guys have started peeping out. I'm so excited!

This new online endeavor

It seems as though everyone I know is getting into blogging. As I am a fan of all of these DIY blogs and such I guess I should make one of my own. Expect to see lots of projects and tasty treats in the future.
As I have recently moved to a new condominium in Lafayette, LA for these last few semesters of college <that are hopefully all that I have left> I have some space to fill and ideas to conquer.
Keep Posted for new beginnings!
Here's an idea of what i've been working on lately:
I've been pretty obsessed with terrariums and making them myself.
